A strong outdoor signal does not always make it inside.
Concrete, metal, low-emissivity glass and interior layouts can weaken cellular signals. The result may be missed calls in offices, unreliable service in meeting rooms or tenants walking outside to connect. A radio-frequency (RF) survey helps separate signal problems from congestion and device issues.
Choose the system around the building.
A distributed antenna system (DAS) brings a signal source to multiple indoor antennas. Small cells provide localized carrier radio service. Appropriate signal boosters may suit more limited coverage challenges when a usable donor signal exists. Building size alone does not determine the answer: carriers, available signal sources, capacity, cabling and ownership all matter.
Start with evidence. Plan for the handoffs.
ACE scopes testing around the carriers and spaces that matter, reviews pathways and equipment locations, and develops an appropriate recommendation. Carrier authorization, signal-source arrangements, permitting and installation responsibilities must be resolved before deployment. Testing and documentation establish a baseline for ongoing support.
Where cellular improvements matter
Tenant offices, interior meeting rooms, hospitality spaces and parking levels can benefit from a planned cellular approach. The intended outcome is a more usable mobile connection in the agreed areas, verified against project-specific test criteria.
What a system can include
Depending on the architecture: an authorized carrier or donor signal source, head-end or small-cell equipment, fiber or coaxial distribution, remote units, indoor antennas, power and monitoring. The architecture and carrier dependencies are determined during engineering.
Common questions
Does every property need DAS?
No. A survey may identify a smaller solution, changes to an existing system, or a different cause of poor performance.
Will one system cover every carrier?
Carrier support depends on the chosen equipment, bands, signal sources and authorizations. Confirm the required carriers during assessment.
